Mt Nokogiri

If you live in Tokyo , you can never be short of places to hike. From the lung busting Mt Fuji climb to the much easier Mt Takao. Mt Nokogiri, located close to the Boso peninsula in Chiba prefecture is one of the lesser known mountains.

On clear winter days, you can look across the Boso peninsula , into the Tokyo Bay and catch a sight of snow capped peak of Mt Fuji.
The 330 metres tall mountain can be deceptive at places, turning steep at places.

Those who want to avoid the hike can always take the ropeway to the peak. Other than the occasional challenges, it is good for leisurely a day hike, away from the crowded areas of Tokyo.
